Botox is a very effect for all kinds of lip wrinkles but is not a permanent solution. Botox works by paralyzing the muscles that surround the lips so that can no longer cause wrinkles. While it is not going to last forever better skin can be seen in about 2-4 days with benefits that can continue for up to 6 months. More treatments will be required as the Botox loses its effectiveness and wrinkles start to show up again. The good news is that Botox actually teaches your muscles to stay more relaxed over time so after each treatment you will see few and few wrinkles reappear.

Some great benefits of Botox is that you do not need to have any kind of sedation and the procedure only takes minutes. Botox is inserted directly in the muscles with a very thin needs that is more comfortable and accurate than other needles. Alcohol should not be consumed for at least one week before hand because it may lead to additional bleeding and severe bruising. Medications that thin the blood, such as aspirin, should not be taken for at least two weeks before hand.

Botox will leave skin smoother with less lines and wrinkles around your lips. The effects of the treatment will slowly fade at which point you will simply get another treatment. Though as mentioned before this will have to continually be done over and over to keep up the results.

The reason that Botox only works temporally is because the plastic surgeon must be extremely causes when putting the Botox in to the skin. If to there is an excess amount of Botox used or it is injected into  an incorrect location and your smile can end up crooked for up to six weeks. For these reasons the doctor has to be careful with the amount of Botox that is used. With less Botox the results last a shorter amount of time.
